I have been following Cathy's blog for many months now

Her scrapbook layouts are amazing,

full of layers, sumptuous colour and beautiful details.

Cathy recently featured a flower tutorial on her blog

which I thought was inspiring and creative.....

So.....gather all your paper blossoms

that are sitting in the bottom of your drawer

you know the ones!!

the flowers we used to use on all our projects

before Prima Flowers became so popular LOL

and Cathy will show you how to revamp them!!

first a few words from Cathy

Hi, my name is Cathy Cafun. I live in sunny Brisbane, Australia with my husband Yves of 25 years and 2 teenage children Luke and Brittany and have been scrapping for about 7 years now. I have always enjoyed dabbling in many different arts & crafts since my teens, but once I was introduced to scrapbooking by a friend, that was it for me, I had found my passion and I have been seriously addicted ever since.

The last year and a half I have found my work has really evolved by participating in on-line Challenge Sites. I find I am becoming more adventurous and creative and am constantly trying to challenge myself to think outside the box.

I don’t think I have a particular style, but I do love the beautiful feminine pages am very partial to the grungy distressed look. My inspiration usually comes from photos of my family, and I just let my creations flow from there.

For me, scrapping is the perfect way to record all those precious family memories and have fun expressing my creativity at the same time.

Here are a few ideas on how to give new life to paper blossoms.

 Ορίστε μερικές ιδέες για το πως μπορείτε να ανανεώσετε τα paper blossoms. 


Creating some texture on your flowers by embossing them with Embossing Folders and swiping them with Ink.

Δημιουργούμε υφή, περνόντας τα με   Embossing Folders και μετά απαλά απλώνουμε μελάνι από πάνω.

You can stamp directly on to your flowers with your stamps.

A smaller overall pattern looks best.

Μπορείτε να σφραγίσετε απευθείας πάνω στο λουλούδι.
Ένα μικρό σχέδιο φαίνετε καλύτερα.

Use glimmer mist on your blossoms to colour them to match your LO.

You can spray the whole flower or use splats for a more concentrated effect.

Χρησιμοποιήστε  glimmer mist λουλούδι για να ταιριάξει το χρώμα στην σύνθεση σας.
Μπορείτε να ψεκάσετε ολοκλήρο το λουλούδι ή να κάνετε πιτσιλιές για εφέ. 

You can also use your flowers as a mask with your misting to create a fab background.

Use a fineliner pen to outline your images to create a little more dimension.

Μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε τα λουλούδια σαν μάσκα για να κάνετε ωραίο φόντο.

Χρησιμοποιήσετε ένα λεπτό μαρκαδοράκι για να κάνετε το περίγραμα των λουλουδιών το οποίο θα δώσει περισσότερη διάσταση.

Using Bakers Twine and a needle to stitch onto your flowers.

Με τη χρήση του  Bakers Twine με μία βελόνα, να κεντήσετε πάνω στο λουλούδι.

Cutting your Blossoms in half and using them as a border.

Κόβετε τα λουλούδια στη μέση και τα χρησιμοποιείτε για μπορντούρα.

 

 

You can jazz them up by using various centres like Brads, Resin Flower, Metal Flowers and Pins.

Μπορείτε να τα ζωηρέψετε χρησιμοποιώντας διάφορα πραγματάκια στο κέντρο.

 

 

Various mediums can also be used like Kindyglitz, Crackle Paint, Diamond Dust and Liquid Pearls. 

Επίσης μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε διάφορα mediums όπως Kindyglitz, Crackle Paint, Diamond Dust και Liquid Pearls.

 

A few more ideas for centres, charms, cutting up a Felt Ribbon to use as a layer, a Mini Rose and scrunching a smaller blossom and adding Stamens for a bit of dimension. You can also roll the edges of your flowers and add some Leaves. 

Μερικές ιδέες ακόμη για το κέντρο είναι μεταλικά στοιχεία (charms), 

να κόψετε λίγη κορδέλα να χρησιμοποιήσετε,

ένα μικρό λουλούδι ή να βάλετε στημόνες για διάσταση. 

Επίσης μπορείτε να τυλίξετε τις άκρες των πετάλων, και να προσθέσετε μερικά φύλλα.

που το βρήκα γεμάτη έμπνευση και δημιουργία.

Έτσι ... μαζέψετε τα χάρτινα λουλούδια 

που βρίσκονται στο κάτω συρτάρι ... ναι έκεινα, 

ξέρετε αυτά που ήταν δημοφιλής πριν τα Prima, 

και η Cathy θα σας δείξει πως μπορείτε να τα ανανεώσετε!

Μερικά λόγια από την ίδια:

Γεια σας, λέγομαι Cathy Cafun. Ζω στην ηλιόλουστο Brisbane, Australia με τον σύζηγό μου Yves, και τα δύο μας παιδιά Luke & Brittany. Ασχολούμε με το scrapbooking 7 χρόνια τώρα. Από έφηβη μου άρεσε να ασχολούμε με διάφορα καλλιτεχνικά αλλα μόλις μου το έδειξε μία φίλη, αυτό ήταν, βρήκα το πάθος μου, και είμαι εθισμένη από τότε.  

Το τελευταίο ενάμιση χρόνο ασχολούμε και συμμετέχω σε διάφορες προκλήσεις. Γίνομαι πιο δημιουργική και μου άρεσει να προκαλούμαι δημιουργικά. Δεν πιστεύω ότι με χαρακτηρίζει κάποιο συγκεκριμένο στυλ, αλλά μου αρέσουν οι θυληκες συνθέσεις, και το 'distress look'. Για εμένα το scrapping είναι ο τέλειος τρόπος να καταγράφεις όλες τις πολύτιμες οικογενειακές αναμνύσεις,  και την ίδια στιγμή διασκεδάζω δημιουργόντας.

June 10th ... tutorial project from Eudokia!

Η Ευδοκία έχει ένα υπέροχο project να παρουσιάσει:

Γεια σας και πάλι!!!Ο μήνας περνάει πολύ γρήγορα και να μαστε εδώ για ένα ακόμα project!

Η Ιδέα του να κρατάμε τις αναμνήσεις μας είναι αυτή που μας ενώνει,σωστά;

Σήμερα θα σας δείξω μια πολύ απλή ιδέα που εμένα με ενθουσίασε και έχει να κάνει με τις αναμνήσεις! 

Τα υλικά που θα χρειαστούμε είναι κυρίως ένα βάζο ψηλό,ένα μανταλάκι ξύλινο και απο εκεί και πέρα ό,τι θέλουμε για να διακοσμήσουμε!

Hello again! The month is flying by quickly and here is another project!

The thought of preserving our memories is what binds us together, right?

Today I want to show you a simple idea, that I was inspired by, and which has to do with keeping those memories!  

The material needed are:  a tall jar, a clothespin, and anything embellishment that you want! 

Ξεκινάμε γεμίζοντας το βάζο μας με λίγη άμμο από την παραλία!(εγώ πήγα προχθές και πήρα,εναλλακτικά μπορείτε να βάλετε διακοσμητική άμμο)

Begin by filling the jar with some sand from the beach! (alternatively you can use decorative sand)

Έπειτα διακοσμούμε αν θέλουμε το μανταλάκι μας! Εγώ απλά το σφράγισα και του έβαλα αυτοκόλλητη γραμματοσειρά.Μπορείτε να το βάψετε ή το ντύσετε με χαρτί και κορδέλα!

Next, decorate your clothespin, as you like! I just stamped on it, and used some alphabet stickers.  You can paint it, or decorate it with paper and ribbon!

 

Τσιμπάω την φωτογραφία μου!

Attach your photo with your decorated clothespin!

 

Φτιάχνω και στολίζω ένα tag! Εδώ σφράγισα και καρφίτσωσα ένα εισητήριο "who,where,when".

Decorate your tag, I've stamped and used a journalling tag.

Βάζω μέσα στο βάζο το μανταλάκι μου και το χώνω στην άμμο.Δένω στο καπάκι το tag και έτοιμο!!!Εναλλακτικά μπορείτε να φτιάξετε βάζο τοποθετώντας μέσα ό,τι θέλετε να κρατήσετε ζωντανό,όπως την πρώτη πιπίλα του μωρού σας,το πρώτο παπουτσάκι κτλ.

Place your clothespin and photo in the jar.  Tie your tag around the jar. 

Alternatively, you can make a jar to preserve something, like your child's first pacifier, his / her first shoe, etc ...

It is June, the 6th month of the year......

your challenge is to add 6 elements to your card.

But here is the twist....

your card has to have 6 of the same ONE element you choose...

for example if you choose pattern paper it should have 6 pieces,

if you choose buttons it has to be 6 buttons....

.........make sense?

Έχουμε Ιούνιο, ο έκτος μήνας του χρόνου ...
γι'αυτό η πρόκλησή σας είναι να βάλετε 6 στοιχεία στην κάρτα σας.
Η 'μαγκιά' είναι ότι πρέπει να είναι 6 από το ΙΔΙΟ στοιχείο ... 
για παράδειγμα αν επιλέξετε χαρτιά με σχέδιο να βάλετε 6 κομμάτια,
αν επιλέξετε κουμπιά να έχει η κάρτα 6 κουμπιά ...
.... καταλάβατε??
